Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Macoredex ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use Wayfinder.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account data: name, email address, and password (hashed — we never store plaintext passwords)
  • Profile data: phone number, mailing address, job title, target regions, work authorization status
  • Resume and career data: uploaded resumes, professional history, cover letters, and application notes
  • Payment data: processed by Stripe — we store only card brand and last four digits for display; full card numbers never touch our servers

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, and interaction patterns via Vercel Web Analytics (privacy-focused, no cookies, no personal data)
  • Device data: browser type, operating system, and screen size — collected in aggregate only

2. How we use your information

  • Provide and operate the Wayfinder service
  • Generate tailored resumes, cover letters, and interview preparation materials
  • Process subscription payments through Stripe
  • Send transactional emails (welcome, password reset, subscription confirmations)
  • Improve the service based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing.

3. AI processing

When you use AI features (resume tailoring, cover letter generation, interview preparation), your resume text and job descriptions may be sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. This data is used only to generate your requested output. Anthropic does not use API inputs for model training. You control when AI features are used — they are never triggered without your action.

If you provide your own Anthropic API key in Settings, API calls are made directly under your key and your Anthropic account terms apply.

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Supabase with encryption at rest and in transit. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. We implement industry-standard security measures, but no system is 100% secure — we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial records for tax purposes).

7. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data via your Settings page
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Object to certain processing activities

8. Children's privacy

Wayfinder is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will promptly delete it.

9. International transfers

Your data may be processed in Canada, the United States, or the European Union depending on the infrastructure of our service providers. By using Wayfinder, you consent to the transfer of your data to these jurisdictions.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Effective date" at the top reflects the latest version.
